And the Winner Is!

Wondering who won the How Do You Doba? contest (the first-ever contest to recognize and reward online retailers for the creative ways in which they use Doba’s services)? Well, wonder no more, because the winners are:

First Place Winner – Ike’s Wholesale

Lifetime Doba Advanced membership ($5,000 value)

Kodak Zi6 Pocket Video Camcorder

We love Derek Young’s story over at Ike’s Wholesale. Derek’s a young guy who took the initiative in a down economy to start his own online retail business. He is proof that you don’t have to be an online retail expert to take advantage of Doba’s award-winning services. Derek has employed unconventional marketing efforts, including building a loyal following in his local community through the distribution of flyers, advertisements on his vehicle, strategic alliances with local businesses and more. Derek won a lifetime Doba Advanced membership (a $5,000 value), and a Kodak Zi6 Pocket Video Camcorder.

Second Place (tie) Winner #1 — CheapForMe.com

Annual Doba Advanced membership ($539 value)

Mike Burnett of CheapForMe.com has developed a huge online store in the highly competitive field of consumer electronics and is doing very well with it. He has a fully categorized site that he has grown to more than 15,000 products using Doba’s catalog. Mike won an Annual Doba Advanced membership (a $539 value), and a Kodak Zi6 Pocket Video Camcorder.

Second Place (tie) Winner #2 — KTee’s World

Annual Doba Advanced membership ($539 value)

One of the key success factors we teach our members is that if they want to compete in the online retail space, they should choose —and focus on developing — a strong product niche. Tammy Green from KTee’s World has taken that advice to heart (pun intended) in building her business around products related to Texas Hold’em Poker. For her efforts, Tammy won an Annual Doba Advanced membership (a $539 value), and a Kodak Zi6 Pocket Video Camcorder.

The criteria for judging How Do You Doba entries included evaluating each company’s volume of Doba products sold, the effectiveness of each company’s marketing strategies, the creativity of each one’s product niche, the overall impression of the business, and more.

That does it for the How Do You Doba contest. Watch the blog for our next member contest, which we’ll announce soon.
