Doba and ASD 2010 Las Vegas and the 2010 eBay Certified Provider Fair
Nothing helps us remain up to date with what’s happening in the online retail industry more than the various conference, tradeshows and conventions we attend throughout the year. Most recently, we attended the Associated Surplus Dealers (ASD) Show in Las Vegas and the eBay Certified Provider Fair at the eBay campus in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The Associated Surplus Dealers convention is one of the largest merchandising shows in the United States. With more than 3,000 wholesalers, importers and closeout suppliers displaying their merchandise this year, retailers attending the show had an abundance of potential product sources from which to choose.
Doba’s presence this year was as an exhibitor, displaying our services to the online retail industry. We made some great contacts on both the retailer and supplier sides of the show. Many suppliers told us they would like to display their inventory in our online virtual inventory catalog. And the online retailers with whom we spoke were thrilled to learn of the quality and variety of the items they could source via drop shipping in the Doba catalog.
Doba has been an eBay Certified Provider since 2004 when the Certified Provider Program was first launched. Each year, eBay invites Certified Providers to its campus in Salt Lake City, Utah, to talk to its employees about the service we provide. We look at this as an opportunity to educate eBay employees on the enhancements we have made to our service as well as an opportunity to solicit feedback from them. That’s how we learn first-hand what challenges eBay sellers face so we can adapt our service to meet their needs.
The Certified Provider Fair proved to be a great success for us this year. Not only did we gather valuable feedback from the eBay Top Seller Account Managers (TSAM’s), we also shared some of our most recent product enhancements, including our proactive inventory updates alerts.
