Doba’s Education Center: Learning the Ropes at Your Own Pace

If you want to talk about the resources available at Doba, just take a quick peek at our online Education Center. There’s more information packed into this section of Doba.com than can be found in the main libraries of some small countries. (OK. Some very small countries.)

Our Education Center  (which is available at no additional charge to Doba members, including those of you who participate in our FREE 7-Day Trial) is where the new online retailer will find tutorials, archived webinars (Web seminars), newsletters, articles and access to this blog chock full of industry news, how-tos and updates. The Education Center also is the perfect resource for veteran drop-ship retailers looking for new ways to meet — and exceed — their business goals and to hone their marketing skills.

Starting a new enterprise is a daunting experience under the best of circumstances, but those embarking on a retail business with us find the going much easier with our online Education Center. For many, this may be your first introduction to selling online and using a drop shipper.

To help you get started, here’s an overview of our online education resources for retailers:

Multimedia Tutorials

We’re here to take the pressure off. And that all starts with an easy to follow online orientation tutorial that’s presented in an atmosphere void of intimidation. After you’ve signed on, click on the Help Center button at the top right of the screen, and then click on Multimedia Tutorials. Go to the tutorial titled “Doba.com Orientation” and click on it. Then sit back and watch and listen. This 5-minute session provides an overview of how to navigate our site, find products to sell, place orders, update your account and access other resources.

Other multimedia tutorials in this section include ones covering the Push to Marketplace Tool, which shows you how to upload any of the 1.5 million-plus wholesale products and move (or “push”) these products to your eBay account or three other marketplaces. A tutorial on our Data Export Tool follows, enabling you to export product information more easily. Another online presentation shows that by using the Watch List Tool, you can save time and money by monitoring products you have listed or might be interested in. And the Saved Searches Tool lesson enables you to maximize your time perusing our giant catalog by saving previous searches in the push tool, watch list or export tool areas.

There’s also an audio presentation on setting up your Facebook store using My Deals, which includes information on how to organize your push settings to your own storefront. Yet another multi-media presentation describes the steps you need to take to create an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) in order to return a product to the supplier.

Webinars

By clicking on the Education button at the top of any of our web pages (the one that features the little graduation cap icon) you are taken to a section of our site containing more than 40 online webinars — recorded by experts in the fields of online marketing, eBay and online retail business practices. There are five recordings in the education series called eBay 101, plus another 16 advanced eBay seminars. Marketing Techniques include ways to stand out in a crowded (eBay) marketplace; means of increasing your business through Search Engine Optimization (SEO); blogging to draw online buyers to your site; and capitalizing on seasonal selling opportunities throughout the year.

There’s also a Market Research series, a Business Basics section, and seminars on fraud prevention and collecting payments.

Articles

Here’s where Doba takes on the appearance of a research library focused on online retail selling and good business practices. In this section, we have literally hundreds of up-to-date articles that are presented with one purpose in mind — to help you understand online retail management and to help you take advantage of a multitude of tips, tactics and time-tested marketing techniques.

Our Newsletter Archive features all of the eNewsletters we’ve published every month since October 2003, and we also have our Elite Seller Report, another monthly publication with articles going back to 2005, written by experienced online entrepreneurs and Doba staffers who keep you in the loop on the Internet items that are the top sellers each month.

Doba Blog

This is the newest addition to the Education Team.  Located at DropShippingBlog.com, it provides new articles, insights and announcements on a near-daily basis, centering on Doba, the world of drop shipping and being an online retailer.  It also gives you a forum, enabling you to comment on posts, tell us how you think we’re doing and let us in on any tricks of the trade you might have developed that you’d be willing to share.

This is also where you’ll find blog posts from our own employees and other online business professionals who we rely on and consider trusted resources.
