Doba’s Water Cooler Stories
They say you can tell a lot about a company by the people who work there. Here at Doba, we’re blessed to work with some of the finest people you’d ever want to meet. From the folks who staff our entry-level positions to those holding the top posts in the company, Doba employees are talented, hard working and focused on your success.
As you’ll see, we’re doing something a little different today. Rather than share news and information that helps you – the online retailer – get the most out of your Doba membership, today we’re taking a moment to share news and information with you about the people who work here. And there’s a lot to share. Think of yourself as the fly on the wall as Doba staffers gather around the water cooler to share their own news and info.
- Jill King, our fulfillment operations manager and her husband Vince recently welcomed their first child – a beautiful baby girl named Kenslee Elaine. Mom and baby are doing great, and Jill expects to be back at work in September.
- Senior designer Josh DeRosa participated in a backpacking bachelor party adventure in July with some of his friends from Doba. We’d like to take this opportunity to congratulate Josh and his wife Lisa on their recent nuptials.
- Doba co-founder and board chairman Jeremy Hanks attended the ASD/AMD trade show in Las Vegas a few weeks ago where he met with a number of Doba’s partners and members. In other news, The Community Foundation of Utah recently honored Jeremy with an Enlightened Fifty award. Also known as the E-5-0, Jeremy’s recognition comes as a result of his innovative and sustainable approaches in making a long-term impact on critical issues facing Utah, as well as his commitment to community engagement as part of his core business values.
- Jared Sidwell, our VP of business development, is training for his first marathon. Jared is already up to 18-mile training runs in preparation for this fall’s St. George Marathon. Run Jared, Run!
- There must be something in the water because several Doba employees have little ones on the way, including:
- Jake Sabey, email marketing and education specialist, and his wife Jennie are expecting their first baby.
- IT analyst Sean Nichols and his wife Anne are expecting their second child — a boy!
- Angie Terburg, executive assistant, and her husband Bear are expecting their first child — a boy — due in November.
- CEO Blaine Nielsen and his wife Jen are expecting a newborn in November as well — their sixth child.
- Finally, Jason Weir, software engineer, and his wife Cami are expecting the arrival of a baby boy around the first of December.
- Continuing with the baby news, Jason Cook in the marketing department and wife Brittany are now the proud parents of a 9-week-old Maltese Shitzhu puppy named Moose. In his short two weeks as a part of the Cook family, Moose has learned to ring a bell to go outside!
- Continuing with the real baby news — Jayni Brenchley – who started out six years ago managing our front desk and reception area and now works on the Marketplace team – recently gave birth to her first child with husband Ben.
- Customer service representative Julie Peterson’s left Doba earlier this month, moving to BYU-Idaho to study communications. We wish Julie the best of luck!
- Service manager Rachelle Danis is recovering from a second surgery on her ankle after a rock climbing-related injury. Get better soon, Rachelle!
Speaking of rock climbing, our executive VP of sales and marketing, Brandon Delgrosso, recently climbed the 5.11C technically rated Litmus Test in American Fork Canyon here in Utah. If that doesn’t mean anything to you, we understand. That’s why the following pictures might put Brandon’s skills into impressive perspective:
